B2.2-level students will learn during the course, following the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR) and the book “Aula Internacional 5. Difusión. Nueva edición” B2.

Course content

Cultural Aspects (as per Aula Internacional 5)

• Contemporary Social Issues: Exploration of complex social, political, and cultural issues in Spanish-speaking countries, including identity, immigration, education…
• High Culture and Popular Culture: In-depth analysis of literary works, films (Volver de Almodovar), music, literature (Antonio Machado) and visual arts from Spanish-speaking regions.
• Media and Communication: Critical engagement with Spanish-language media, including news, digital platforms, and social media trends.
• Historical and Political Contexts: Understanding the historical and political background that shapes contemporary Spanish-speaking societies.
• Intercultural Communication: Developing awareness of intercultural communication strategies and cultural nuances in Spanish-speaking contexts.
